A 21-year old Rapid City man, pleaded not guilty to simple assault on a law enforcement officer.
The charge stems from September of this year.
This is in addition to several other charges Cruz DeLeon is facing after an officer involved shooting in Box Elder in July.

Back in July, DeLeon is accused of pulling a gun and pointing it at a deputy when the deputy was at his home serving a warrant on another person.
The deputy fired two shots at DeLeon, hitting him in the right forearm.
For that incident, he's earlier pleaded not guilty to attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, commission of a felony of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, and impersonation to deceive a law enforcement officer.
Those charges could have DeLeon facing more than 100 years behind bars.
The simple assault charge could tack on another two years of jail time.
He's due back in court on November 20th.
