Celebrating Pi day with Pie

Rapid City, SD It's Albert Einstein's birthday and a day for geometry enthusiasts everywhere -- but plenty of people celebrated "pi day"... not mathematically, but with their taste buds.

And a local bakery got in on the action as well.

Pistachio Pie Bakery offered pie slices for just 3 dollars and 14 cents and offered build your own pies with up to 8 slices of various flavors.

The owner says people are always on the hunt for pie on pi day and that it was an easy equation to decide to celebrate.

Lauren Moier, owner of Pistachio Pie says, " You Know we are mainly a pie shop, Pistachio Pie, we mainly focus on pit, we do sell other things like cheesecake and cookies and things like that but pie is kind of our main focus so it would kind of feel not right to not celebrate."

Moier says the most difficult equation her customers will have to solve is which flavor of pie to enjoy. According to National Today about 43% percent of Americans will eat Pie this Pi day.
