Canyon Lake United Methodist Church raised more than $5,000 for their annual 'Many Hands' project. Several volunteers packed supplies at seven different stations, some including health and laundry kits for the Hope Center and firefighting kits for the Red Cross.

This is the third year the church has come together to make a difference.

Carol Dormann, Missions Committee Chairman, says, "We feel like it makes a big difference in our church because everybody can get involved in a small part of missions. When we take our kits to the people we get such a good response that it's fun."

The Packing United Methodist Committee on Relief is also supported through the event, with health and school supplies to be distributed internationally in times of disaster.

The church will finish up their missions event tomorrow morning.
