Black Hills FOX wins 4 AP awards

We want to congratulate some of the fine people we have here at Black Hills FOX.
Our staff took home four awards in the 2017 Associated Press Great Plains Broadcast Contest in the small market television division.

We picked up a pair of first place awards this time.
Heather Janssen was the winner in the feature category for her story on 9-year old Shaylee Loveland and her little lamb Pepper.
That was a part of her Be The Change series.
And Taylor Kauffman took home first place in the sports category for her story on eight-year old golfer Vincent VanLierem, a budding star out on the course.
Chief meteorologist Taylor Nicolaisen picked up the second place award in the weathercast category.
And Steve Long was honored with second place in the writing category for his Along the Way story on Kent French, the Original World's Fastest clapper.
And we should also congratulate Madison Elliott, who is also a part of the Gray family here in Rapid City, for winning first in the spot news category for her story on a farmer who lost crops in a hail storm.
