RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Due to the strong winds and heavy snow from the winter storm on Wednesday, flights were cancelling left and right in the morning.
But by 4 p.m. on Thursday, the airport was reopened.

United, American and Delta airlines all had flights departing from Rapid City. But each flight was delayed by one to two hours. Allegiant airlines had one flight going out on Thursday night but it was cancelled.

One traveler says his flight was cancelled seven times on Wednesday.

"I'm frustrated because this not only an occasion, this is a personal matter of my family so I was suppose to be there yesterday. So there waiting for me but it's just frustrating, you know. I was expecting like a little compliment gift from the airlines or something," said Alex Colon, a traveler.

Snow removal crew members are cleaning up the drifts around the airport.
