Local businesses celebrate National Pi Day

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - There's more to celebrate today then just the calmness after the storm, March 14, is National PI Day and many places are celebrating it nationwide.

Pi is defined as the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, 3.14.

It doesn't matter if your pie is made with apples and cinnamon or cheese and pepperonis, places like Blaze Pizza on Mountain View Road. They are offering their pizza pies for sale for only $3.14. Before you cash in this special, you must simply download their app onto your smart device and show them at the register.

"We have basically all of our staff," said John Gasper, a manager, "it's kind of our black Friday. So we get everyone here and we all have a good time, we get to rotate out and try some new positions that maybe we aren't used to like a lot of our people on the line usually aren't in the positions they're in and they get a chance to try out all the different jobs that we have over here."

Make sure you go to Blaze Pizza's Mountain View Road location as their other location in Rushmore Crossing is closed due to the recent weather.

Other businesses in Rapid City that are celebrating this day with deal and discounts are Colonial House, Perkins and Marco's Pizza.
