Rapid City Regional Airport closes as flights are canceled

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - The storm hasn’t clobbered Rapid City yet but airlines have already canceled flights in and out of Regional Airport.

Regional Airport is closed until further notice “in the best interest of public safety,” an airport release stated.

The airport will reopen as soon as conditions warrant. Travelers need to check with their airline for the most current status of scheduled flights.

You can also check the airport’s status via Facebook and Twitter; as well as on our station’s platforms.

In Sioux Falls, many flights have been canceled because of low visibility; lower than 1/8 of a mile Wednesday morning.
