RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - South Dakota School of Mines & Technology hosted their 21st annual Health and Wellness Fair Tuesday, in the Surbeck Center Ballroom.
This free event, which was open to the public, showcased more than 30 organizations that promote healthy lifestyles and balanced living.
Some additions to this year's include a walking labyrinth, a rowing machine and martial art and fencing displays.
The theme focused on ecotherapy, a form of wellness that can be achieved when connecting with nature or exercising outdoors.
"I think ecotherapy is maybe a little underrated but definitely very important," said Madison Puntillo, a senior chemical engineering student at SDSM&T. "Especially because we are in the Black Hills so it's really easy to do, just drive 30 minutes and go on like a beautiful hike. Clears you head, gets your blood flowing and it's just a great way to just reset, reconnect."
