CASA in of volunteers to represent neglected or abused children

RAPID CITY, .S.D (KEVN) - 7th Circuit Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, is currently serving more than 400 neglected or abused children.

And with 318 more children on their waiting list, CASA is in need of volunteers to become advocates for these children. A CASA volunteer represents the best interests for children involved in court proceedings and serve as role models helping them get through a difficult time. Some volunteers form long lasting relationships...

"I always love hearing stories and seeing some of our CASA's, especially in the spring time a lot of people are telling me they went to graduation ceremonies for kids they advocated for, weddings and just run into them out in the communities," said Kehala Two Bulls, executive director of 7th Circuit CASA. "It's always neat to hear those stories 'Oh I almost had a heart attack because all of a sudden someone just grabbed me from behind in a big bear hug and it was the key they had advocated for years ago and remembered what was to have someone in their corner."

If you are interested in volunteering, CASA will hold their next volunteer training in January. For more information visit CASA
