RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN TV) - Dozens of people sat down with city planners to discuss historic preservation, building project updates and home occupations over a cup of coffee. One of the main concerns was understanding if business can be conducted at home since more people are opting to work from home.
City staffers answered questions about guidelines and permits to clarify.
These meetings allow the public to catch up on what's going on in the community and spread some ideas to make it better.
"It is those voices that we take back to work together with the planning committee council when we bring ordinances and amendments forward. So having a voice and being part of the direction of the city. This meeting is a great opportunity to be heard," says City Planning Manager Vicki Fisher.
The next session of 'Coffee With Planners' will be in three months.
