PINE RIDGE, S.D. (KEVN TV) -- The race for president of the Oglala Sioux Tribe is down to the final two candidates.
The tribe held its primary election Tuesday and the top two vote-getters advance to the general election in November.
Julian Bear Runner nabbed the highest vote total with 30 percent of the vote and Dr. Richard Zephier was second, picking up 23 percent.
Zephier previously served on the Oglala Lakota County School Board.
Bear Runner gained notice during the Standing Rock anti-pipeline protests where he was arrested on misdemeanor trespassing charges.
OST President Scott Weston is not seeking a second term.
