RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Marsy’s Law For All announced tonight that Amendment Y has overwhelmingly passed in South Dakota.
With 684 of the state’s 685 precincts reporting, 80 percent of voters (106,233) checked Yes to amend the state’s constitution. Only 27,353 voters said No.
Amendment Y will strengthen rights currently set forth under Marsy’s Law for South Dakota and will ensure crime victims continue to receive the same level of constitutional protections as the accused and convicted, according to Marsy’s Law For All.
