RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - We can expect to see heavy snow across our area this weekend. Before the snow, we will see some severe weather on Friday. Storms will form around 4-5pm on the South Dakota/Wyoming state line and move northeast from there. Some storms may produce damaging winds and minor hail. Friday night into Saturday is when we will start to see snow. The snow will start in Northeast Wyoming during the overnight hours. By Saturday Morning, we will see heavy snow in the northern hills and potentially Rapid City. The snow will then continue throughout most of the day on Saturday. Total accumulation of 12-24 inches is possible in the northern hills and anywhere from 6-18 inches is possible in northeast Wyoming and northwest South Dakota. Rapid City could see as much as 4 inches. Temperatures for the weekend will be much colder with highs in the 30s and 40s. Temperatures will be in the 60s next week with much calmer conditions.
