DEADWOOD, S.D. (KEVN) - Now’s the time of year to start filling out your bracket for the NCAAA basketball tournaments, and for the first time ever, you’ll be able to bet on the games in Deadwood.

Tin Lizzie Gaming Resort is home to one of those sports lounges, and finished installing all their flat screens just in time for the big dance.

Assistant General Manager Josh Thurmes says the additional screens become a great opportunity for people who want to watch multiple games at once.

“People might be focused on a completely other game than the person sitting next to them,” Thurmes said. “You can see every one of the games from anywhere in the building.”

It’s no secret that since sports betting began in Deadwood, revenue for the city has gone through the roof.

Mike Rodman, Executive Director of the Deadwood Gaming Association, is excited about the potential for sports betters to stick around the town and contribute to the economy.

“They’re doing other gaming activities, staying in our hotels, getting food and beverages,” Rodman said. “So, it’s really boosted all what Deadwood has to offer.”

The Tin Lizzie sports lounge is one of six sports books at casinos across town.
