A Martin man died during a two vehicle crash in Bennett County Saturday morning.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says 67-year-old Charles Bettelyoun suffered fatal injuries after he lost control of his Ford Explorer on an icy road just south of Allen. Bettelyoun entered oncoming traffic and collided with a Ford F250 pickup in a ditch.

The Highway Patrol says Bettelyoun and his passenger, 25-year-old William Bettelyoun of Martin, were not wearing seatbelts.  William suffered non-life threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the Ford pickup were both wearing seatblets at the time of the crash; they escaped unharmed.

The crash is being investigated by the Bennett County Sheriff's Office and the Oglala Sioux Tribal Police.
