Does The Driving record matter?Let me ask you at BH Fox.Does anybody remember a former Gov.and Congressman from SD.Who believed his driving record and how he drove didn't matter.A man on a motorcycle isn't here any more because of his driving record.YES IT MATTERS IF YOU THINK YOUR ABOVE THE LAW ! - Alan Bennett, Newell |
One or two tickets may be acceptable but 20 plus tickets says a lot about one’s character. These individuals are a danger to themselves and everyone around them. They are not leaders I would want my children to look up to as role models. If we elect these people, it just shows how little we value an individual’s character. - Gary Ladner, Rapid City |
Minor traffic offenses shouldn't be used and aren't significant at all. Everyone who has driven for a few years has broke the law in one aspect or another, some people just don't get caught. These offenses don't affect their knowledge on the issues at hand or their rationability to make good choices. - Doug Carling, Rapid City |
It doesn't bother me at all. Let their work speak for the candidate. - Ted J.R. Hayward, Cole Camp, MO |
As long as they are law abiding citizens, pay any & all fines they have incurred, & have taken full responsibility for their actions, & don't receive any 'special' treatment, then the driving records don't matter. - Julie L. Babcock, - |
Driving records shouldnt have an affect on ur ability to get the job done...unless ur a truck driver. - Josie Jiron Dupree, Rapid City |
I think Teddy Kennedy set the standard! - Raymond Walker, Hot Springs |
I'm much more interested in seeing their birth certificate...MAYBE then I would worry about driving records - Savhannah Williams, Lead |
get over the birth certificate thing! - Becky Weber, Rapid City |
We really don't need anymore Ted Kennedy's or Janklow's on the road. I do however think that as long as their violations aren't felonies then they shouldn't be an issue! I do however think that showing their birth certificate is an issue Becky! - John Jenkins, Rapid City |
Birth certificates, really, god are we that backward of a state we still are questioning that??? - Val Miller, - |
I'm with Becky, if you have to have all this crap to get a drivers lic. now, the prez SHOULD be able to produce a birth cert. come on, what is he hiding? - Ryan Chris Bartlett, Piedmont |
Yes the driving records of our elected officials is important, for nothing more than their ability to comply with the law. Is it a basis for a vote, i dont think so. in the early years of our America and its politics this was called muckrakking. i want our law makers to be law abiding. but i also want them to be aware of what their constituants are concerned with and follow that path. Simply put, lawmakers need to follow the law, no one is above the law but it is not the basis of a vote - Erik R. Olsen, Spearfish |
I will no be electing someone based upon their driving record. I will look to see the candidate, and if the candidate really has South Dakota in their best interest. A speeding ticket seems minor compared to a Representative that votes, either way mind you, on Bill that is over 2000 pages long and has only been out less than 72 hours. That is what says the most about a candidate! - Bill Gillen, new underwood |
Normal driving records don't matter but 27 tickets in 21 years is not normal. Having not paid some of the tickets indicates a lack of attention at best or an elitist attitude at worst. We don't need another politician that doesn't pay attention to detail and doesn't make sure things are paid for. - Vern Pope, Rapid City |
Ok, you all REALLY BELIEVE he's not a citizen and has no id saying such, WOW!?! Uh, ....... I don't want to be rude but think you all listen to Nut Cases like Glen Beck WAY TOO MUCH!!! On the other hand this canadate has shown blatant disre...gaurd for the law and that OK, SD you deserve what you vote for. - Val Miller, - |
