SD House votes to continue Playhouse lease
Tuesday, 09 March 2010 15:54

Supporters in the South Dakota House called it ``do or die'' time for the Black Hills Playhouse, which has been entertaining theatre-goers in Custer State Park for some 64 years. Tuesday the House voted to continue a lease with the Black Hills Playhouse and give it two years to raise the money in order to fix it up. The Playhouse's lease with the state expired last year and the state has been opposed to renewing it without updates to some of the buildings and the sewage system. The bill has already passed the Senate but now returns there so that senators can consider the changes made by House members.
