SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) _ Sioux Falls philanthropist T. Denny
Sanford has dropped off Forbes magazine's billionaire list.
Sanford has seen his net worth decrease from $2.8 billion in
2008, but he remained on the 2009 list with a net worth estimated
at $1 billion. Forbes says it has now fallen below that threshold.
Forbes lists Mexican telecom magnate Carlos Slim Helu as the
world's richest man, with a fortune estimated at $53.5 billion,
ahead of American tycoons Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.
Forbes says the world has 1,011 billionaires, up from 793 a year
ago but still shy of the record 1,125 in 2008.
