Two suspects in a 2015 murder faced the judge for the first time today. Richard Bissonette and Hunter Highpipe made their initial appearance today in front of Magistrate Judge Scott Bogue.
The pair is accused of killing Richard Lowry here in Rapid City back in September of last year. Each man is charged with alternative counts of first and second degree murder. They are also charged with conspiracy to commit first degree murder, first degree robbery, and conspiracy to commit first degree robbery. If convicted of first degree murder, the men could receive life in prison or the death penalty. Lowry's body was found in a parking lot behind a business on East North Street. Police said at the time that it was clear that he was the victim of a violent assault.
Bond was set at one million dollars and an arraignment date is yet to be determined.
