Rapid City, (KEVN-TV) Students at Corral Drive Elementary School were looking to make a difference in the community this evening at their 2nd Annual Family Service Night.

Students and their families were lending a helping hand, producing items to be donated to charitable organizations.
Some of the projects from this year's event include decorating placemats for the local Meals on Wheels program, creating cards for veterans, making blankets and child care packages for the Women and Children's home and many more.
Event coordinators say Family Service Night grew tremendously this year, and more students and their families are getting involved.

Barbara Carr, Family Service Night Co–Chair said, "People really loved it and its grown, I think doubled in size this year so, I think what made the kids most excited was their classrooms put together baskets to auction off for Make–A–Wish South Dakota so they all want to come see their baskets and make money for our goal."

A silent auction for the themed–baskets took place throughout the event in hopes of raising 5–thousand dollars in order to adopt a wish for a child.
