Going into Saturday, The Rapid City Rush were five games into the season, and the only team in the ECHL with zero points. The Rush looked to change that - taking on the defending Kelly Cup Champions on home ice Saturday night.

And the scoring started early 1:47 into the game, Matt Caito with the pass to the rookie, Jimmy DeVito who fires in the goal, his first of the season and his career to put the Rush in the early lead.
About a minute later, Colorado playing like the defending champs they are. Michael Joly sneaks the puck past Steve Michalek for the game-tying goal. 1-1 is the score just 3 minutes into play.
The Rush fighting to keep this lead, Gustav Bouramman passes across the goal to Dante Salituro - piece of cake - Salituro nets the goal to put the Rush up 2-1.
Don't blink! 40 seconds later, and Rapid City is back at it on the break away. Alex Guptill passes to Jimmy DeVito, and the rookie nets his second goal of the game to put the Rush in the 3-1 lead. His first goal, and possibly first hat trick coming in the same game.
Later in the first, Colorado's Drayson Bowman nets a goal in the middle of traffic to cut the Rush's lead to 1.
Rapid City holds on to the lead and gets its first win of the season over the division rival, 4-3 the final score as the Rush take the win over Colorado.
