The Rapid City Rush are 0-and-4 against the Utah Grizzlies so far this season. Right now the two teams are in the middle of a 5-game bout. We'll take a look at Saturday night's action as we kick off this week's Sunday Slapshot.
Playing one team 5 times in a row is sure to create some bad blood. Seven minutes into the game last night the refs served up some fighting penalties.
Utah scored first, one minute into the game. Michael Young notched his 6th goal of the season later in the 1st period, but then Utah tallied 4 more unanswered goals as we go into the 2nd period. But the Rush rallied back, with 4-unanswered goals of their own coming from Josh MacDonald, Riley Weslowski, and Mark Cooper who scored once in the 2nd period, and again in the 3rd.
This game would head into overtime tied up at 5.
Utah would end up winning Saturday's contest in overtime, 6-5 the final score. And on Friday, the Rush's Nick Miglio netted the lone goal in the 1st period, but Utah came back with 4-unanswered goals to win the game 4-1.
