Rush fell in New Year's Eve rubber match against Idaho

The Rapid City Rush have had an interesting series against the Steelheads - with a crazy Wednesday game - where the Rush came out on top, and then came a tough loss on Friday night to force the rubber match with Idaho on Saturday.

The Rapid City Rush hoped to ring in the New Year with a win, as they took on Idaho Saturday night.

After shutting out the Rush last night, the Steelheads wanted to do it again... Brandon Troock with the shot, but Adin Hill keeps zeros on the board with the nice save.

The Rush looking to get things going... Ryan Misiak sets up Alex to the Rush roster, playing in his first game tonight... he rips the shot from the blue line.. it gets blocked... but as that is happening, Misiak is curling in for the put-back goal. It's wide open as he nets his 6th goal of the season to put the Rush in the 1-nothing lead.

The next shift... Terrence Wallin fakes the shot, and spins it around for the backwards wrister... it's close, but not close enough. It didn't cross the line.

With 9-minutes to go in the 1st period... the Rush take the shot, it doesn't go, and there's a fight. Anthony Mastrodicasa, tangled up with Idaho's Corbin Baldwin... Charlie Dodero joins in for the Steelheads, and Rapid City's Triston Grant isn't just going to stand by... he gets in on the action. This was a tough game, and unfortunately the Rush came up short, 4-3 the final score.
