Let's start off with a little basketball. Off to the boys' high school hardwood with the Wall Eagles on the road against Rapid City Christian.
Levi VandenBos, driving, but Wall's Mason Sandal elevates for the stuff... Sandal snags the loose ball and outlets to Cass Lytle, Lytle makes the no-look pass to Allan McDonnell, who gets the left handed jumper to go - under pressure. A great set of plays by Wall.
The Eagles soar to victory 82-to-67
Rapid City Christian taking on Wall in the District 14B Championship.
Wall leading by 2 in the first quarter, and adds to it as Carter Elshere gets it to Allan McDonnell for the alley-oop jam!
Beautiful feed from Elshere, beautiful finish from McDonnell.
And the Wall Eagles beat the Comets in the Championship, 68-60 the final score.
Let's take it to the gridiron.
To the College game with Black Hills State squaring off against Fort Lewis College.
Black Hills State on the drive. The junior stud quarterback Ryan Hommel keeps it on the 3rd down - needing 26 yards to move the chains. He *gets* 26 yards, and he's still going! This QB's got legs! Hommel takes it in for the 74 yard touchdown. The Yellow Jackets failed on the 2 point conversion and take the 6-nothing lead.
And Fort Lewis College takes home the win, 17-13 the final score.
Switching over to pole vaulting. Philip's Cooper West broke the school record of 13-9, and raised the new standard to 14-feet even. West easily finishing first on the day. And laying claim to a Scotties record previously held by his own father, and his father's uncle before that.
And to close out our countdown Hill City and Philip. Rangers going to work, Noah Krull hits Chance Simmons who races to the corner where he finds the end zone, but also photographer Jeff Voss. Voss takes the hit like a champ and pops right back up with no damage to himself or his camera.
The Rangers take a four-point halftime lead, but Philip storms back to win it 30 to 18 the final score.
