FOX's Finest: 10/9

Athletes battled it out in State tournaments, and high school football is nearing the end of the season. We'll recap the top plays from the last seven days in this week's edition of the FOX's Finest.

Out to day 1 of the State Tennis Tournament. Former Athlete of the Week, Spearfish's Vittoria Ragni taking on Rapid City Central's Genesis Reynolds in number-1 singles.
Ragni pushing it towards Reynolds' backhand, she has to stretch, but can't get enough on it to get it over.
Later in the match, Ragni going to the same spot once again, this time with a little more pace as the Lady Spartan powers to the point. Ragni finished 4th in the State.

In the boy's State golf tournament, last year's defending champion, Jacob lee of Parkston! He drops one of the nicest shorts of the day on the first hole, par-4. From 100 yards out the eagle is inches away from the pin! The bridie is good. Lee took home 3rd place in the State.

The Hardrockers took the field against New Mexico Highlands on Saturday. Highlands on the 2nd and 15, with under a minute in the 1st half. Danny Cameron goes to the air, and is picked off by Triston Brown - he's soaring - he takes it in for a touchdown, but it's called back. The Hardrockers went on to score on the drive.

Under the Friday Night Lights, we go to the Northern Hills. Douglas taking on Spearfish.
The first play of the second half. Douglas quarterback Trevor Severson calls his own number and shows off his wheels for the 90 yard touchdown. The Patriots got the win, 20-6.

Back to Saturday at O'Harra. The Mines up by 3 in the 2nd quarter, and add to it! On the 3rd and 15, Jakob Sullivan passes to Jermaine Williams, who cuts across the field and runs all the way to the end zone, reaching over the pylon for the touchdown. The Hardrockers win big, 52-14.
