Dakota Valley, Sioux Valley claim Class 'A' hardware

Dance and Cheer squads from around South Dakota made their way to the Black Hills this weekend for the State Competition, looking to put on a show at Rapid City Stevens' Carold Heier Gym.

The competitive dance competition is comprised of four categories: hip-hop, jazz, kick, and pom.
Sioux Falls Washington is the defending Double-A champs while this team... Dakota Valley showed why they are the defending Class 'A' champions, putting on an impressive performance for the crowd, and the judges. But unlike other judged competitions, the scores aren't posted until the end of the competition. Dakota Valley takes three categories claiming this year's overall title.
Over in the cheer competition, there's only one category and that's for stunting and tumbling.
Brandon Valley took home the Double-A crown last year, while Sioux Valley laid claim to the Class 'A' title.
The Cossacks looked more than poised for a repeat with high-flying stunts and strong tumbling runs. Sioux Valley claims back-to-back titles.
