The Zonta Club of the Black Hills has been a fixture since the 1950's. Their main fundraiser took place Thursday night.
This year is the 34th Zonta Expo. The group strives to improve the lives of women and children through service and advocacy. There are over 100 booths at this year's event that features a guest speaker that has dealt with some difficult times herself.
Zonta Expo Guest Speaker Tasha Schuh says, "I was in an accident when I was 16 years old. It was a theater accident that left me paralyzed from the chest down, and I share my story, my journey of becoming a quadriplegic and really how today, I can actually say that I love my life and that I would not go back to when I was walking. So it's a story, and really the message of purpose, the power of attitude, and that there is always hope."
Schuh travels the country, giving inspirational speeches to schools, churches, and organizations. For more information, you can visit her website at tashaschuh.com.
