RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - It isn't safe to keep old drugs stashed around the house. Time to safely dispose of them.
The Rapid City Police Department is a drop-off location for the National Prescription Take Back Day, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the main lobby of the Public Safety Building at 300 Kansas City Street.
The nationwide effort gives people a safe place to dispose of their unused prescriptions, and gain some knowledge on potential abuse dangers.
It isn't just abuse by the prescribed that police are trying to prevent. It keeps these drugs out of the hands of criminals who break into home.
