RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - A Sioux Falls man accused of killing an escaped inmate last January made his initial appearance in a Rapid City court Friday.
Tomas Lucero, 26, is accused of shooting and killing 32-year-old Moses Dubray and dumping his body along Highway 89 on Jan. 11.
Dubray had walked away from his assigned work unit in Rapid City the day before.
Lucero is currently serving time for a 2013 robbery. He was paroled in 2015 but returned to prison in January on a parole violation.
Lucero faces a life prison term and or fines if convicted of these charges.
