State senator enters GOP primary for US House

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - South Dakota’s Republican congressional primary gets a fourth candidate with Monday’s announcement that State Senator Neal Tapio, R-Watertown, has entered the race.

Tapio, a business owner and first-term state senator, will face current Secretary of State Shantel Krebs, former Public Utilities commissioner Dusty Johnson and Eric Terrell of Rapid City in the GOP primary June 5.

Incumbent Kristi Noem is not seeking re-election. Instead, Noem is campaigning for the open governor’s office.
