The 2017 Legends of Dakota Country Music Hall of Fame induction was for people to honor West River country music artists who are living and who have passed on and have put in more than 26 years in the industry.
Since 2010, the founder Gary Maynard says he's been reaching out to musicians and their families all for a chance to pay tribute to the time and sounds these entertainers have put out into the musical realm.

Gary Maynard, founder, says "These guys put alot of miles on traveling back and forth to entertain all of us so now it's time for us to put those people in the back. That's what the Legends of Dakota Country Music is all about.

In addition to hand claps and other types of praise, entertainers and their families walk away with autographed memorabilia at the ceremony that Maynard has been collecting since 1989.
He says the Dakota Hall of Fame is lucky to get more and more talented individuals every year.
