The Western South Dakota Child Protection Council held their Annual Recognition Luncheon on Tuesday to honor members of the community who go above and beyond in making a difference in the lives of children.

The council says they are dedicated to eliminate child abuse through community collaboration and education.
That's why 13 individuals plus a pair of foster parents were recognized at the luncheon.

Jennifer Arnold says, "It's so important for us to get together, all of us, to lift each other up, to recharge our batteries, just to recognize each other and the importance of this mission that we're all in together."

Keynote speakers included Roxie Erickson with the State's Attorney's Office and South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley.
