Looking for a unique way to impress your Valentine but don't want to deal with the busy crowds on Wednesday? The School of Mines may have just the event for you.
The Mines will be hosting their first ever "Sweetheart Dinner & Dance" on Saturday to raise money for the Music department scholarship funds.
Tickets are 50 dollars and comes with a four course meal, dessert bar and music performances by the jazz and choral students. And while Mines may be known for engineering expertise they are also musically talented.
Dr. Haley Armstrong says, 'Music is really strong her at School of Mines we actually have over 235 students that are doing something in the music program and 9 different ensembles and this event is neat because we get to take our top audition students and there is such a correlation between math and music and sciences so there are really some talented musicians '
Alex Tiede says, ' Really nice. Music is kind of any escape for a lot of us here at Mines the course load is a lot. It gives a chance to get away from that homework and gives us a chance to express ourselves here.'
Tickets are still available for the event. Your last chance to purchase them will be by noon on Valentine's day, which is this Wednesday. To purchase tickets contact the School of Mines.
