School may be out for summer but many local students are putting their performance skills to the test at Meier Music Hall at Black Hills State University.

The Rushmore Music Festival held a concert Sunday afternoon on the campus of BHSU and featured many local musicians; as well as some from South Florida, New York, Massachusetts, and Baltimore.

Today's event featured a 4 hands piano piece and solo work, but for the festival's director there is one genre that is music to their ears.

Brett Walfish says,"For me Chamber music is really where my heart is. I absolutely love chamber music. I love the way we get to discover colors, explore emotions together as a group because everybody in the group has to embody the same character the same emotion at all points in time."

If you missed the performance you can catch them next Friday at Meier Hall at 7:30 or Sunday at Rapid City Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at 2.
