Ritchie Nordstrom reacts to being re-elected to the Rapid City Council

Local elections took place around our region on Tuesday.

In Rapid City Ritchie Nordstrom won his seat and will continue his service to the city council representing Ward 2.

He won with 72% of the vote facing Daniel Peterson and Charles Henrie.

When initially trying to run for re-election, Nordstrom says he got double the amount of signatures needed to be put on the ballot.

Ritchie Nordstrom says, "Pleasantly surprised by getting 73% of the vote. Really happy about that part of it. When three people are running for the same seat, normally you see a run-off so with 72% of the vote, extremely excited. Thanks to all the people who supported me."

Nordstrom says some of his goals for this term are to educate people about how the Vision Funds and CIP work together, discuss plans for the Civic Center, and make some progress with President's Plaza, the parking lot on the corner of 5th and Saint Joseph Streets.
