The second annual Red dirt music festival kicked off tonight at the Deadwood Mountain Grand featuring Kyle Park and the Randy Rogers band.

Taylor Guthmiller an Entertainment assistant with the Deadwood Mountain Grand tells us where it originated and why they are bringing it to Deadwood.

Guthmiller added the red dirt name comes from the color of soil that is in Oklahoma. And is a mixture of country, rock and the blues

The event continues tomorrow night with Chauncy Williams and Younger Brothers Band and is headlined by Casey Donahew.
