Rapid City seeks community budget priorities

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - The deadline to complete Rapid City’s community budget priorities survey is approaching.

Rapid City residents have until Dec. 22 to complete the survey which asks for input on several issues including:

-how people would use $1,000 of tax money to fund city services
-ranking the seven strategic goals of Rapid City’s Comprehensive Plan from most to least important
-options the city council should consider to balance the budget in the chance of lower than expected revenue

The city sent out 3,000 paper surveys to a randomly-selected group of residents with each ward equally represented.

The survey can be found online at the Rapid City Government website.
