Rapid City man pleads not guilty to 1st degree rape

A 62-year old Rapid City man was arraigned on sex charges Wednesday morning that could land him behind bars for life.
Ronald Knight pleaded not guilty in Seventh Circuit Court to first degree rape, rape of a child under the age of 13, and sexual contact with a child under the age of 16.

Knight faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if he's convicted on the rape charge, with a minimum of 15 years behind bars.
A conviction on the sexual contact charge carries a maximum of 15 years, with a minimum mandatory ten years.
The incidents are alleged to have happened between January of 2010 and October of 2016.
Knight is free on $200,000 bond and is due back in court on March 20th.
