A 31-year old Rapid City man is facing a potential life prison sentence after pleading to attempted enticement of a minor using the internet Friday morning in federal court.

Ryan Lee Balster now faces a minimum of ten years in federal prison with a maximum of life behind bars when he's sentenced.
According to the factual basis statement signed by Balster, a father reported him to Rapid City Police when he discovered his 15-year old daughter was getting inappropriate text messages and Balster had sent her a naked picture of himself.
That statement says Balster then did the same with an undercover law enforcement agent and was arrested when he showed up for a meeting with what he believed was a 15-year old girl in the Stevens High School parking lot.
Balster was convicted of the federal charge of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct in Sioux Falls in 2009.
