Police looking for witnesses to aggravated assault

Rapid City Police are asking for the public's help with information regarding a dangerous aggravated assault with a vehicle that took place Wednesday evening at the Roosevelt Swim Center parking lot.

Around 5:30 yesterday a white 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer left the Swim Center parking lot, drove onto the sidewalk area near the basketball courts, and was attempting to run over pedestrians.

One pedestrian received serious injuries after being struck by the vehicle.

That person was transported to the hospital for treatment.

According to RCPD public information officer Brendyn Medina the police would like to talk to anyone who was in the path of the car in the lot or in the park at the time of the assault.

The vehicle has been located but police are still searching for the two men and one woman who were in the car.

Anyone with information about the suspects' location should call police immediately at 394-4131.
