After the crash happened at about 4:30 Friday afternoon, the South Dakota Highway Patrol says the driver, of Rapid City, was transported to Regional Hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

Highway Patrol says 28-year-old Cody Stahly of Rapid City was traveling north on Radar Hill Road when he did not stop for the train at the railroad crossing.

Stahley was driving a 2003 Dodge pickup and authorities are not sure if he was wearing a seat belt.

The train engineer was not injured.
