Paris police officer killed in 'terror' attack

PARIS (AP) - French media are reporting that two police officers were shot Thursday on the capital's grand Champs-Elysees.

One officer is reportedly dead and the attacker was taken down, according to French TV station BFM.

The Associated Press reported that a suspect shot at police guarding a metro near the Champs-Elysees. Police are calling it a "terrorist" attack.

Many police vehicles can be seen on the avenue that passes many of the city's most iconic landmarks.

A witness identified only as Ines told BFM that she heard a shooting, saw a man's body on the ground and the area was quickly evacuated by police
