RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - People in western South Dakota will soon have a one-stop shop for all of their rehabilitation needs, Regional Heath's Advanced Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital.
The new facility, located in the Buffalo Crossing development at Highway 16 and Catron Boulevard, will allow patients to get medical services including performance enhancement, and spine and pain management.
"It's really going to help all of us live and be well and we won't have to leave the community for world class care," said Regional Health's chief of operations, Paulette Davidson.
Mark Longacre was also named president of the new Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital.
He said the hospital will allow for more opportunities all in one location for not only orthopedic patients but also athletes.
"What you typically find is the physicians are practicing in a clinic, they're going to the hospital for different types of services and so I think that this takes those multiple stops for patients and puts it into one environment," said Longacre.
The hospital is expect to be up and running next fall.
