Thursday evening the South Dakota Department of Transportation and Ferber Engineering held an open house to update the public on the Mt. Rushmore Road construction project.
While there are not any cones or road work right now, that's about to change come early March when construction begins again on St James Street where work stopped *last* year and heads south towards Flormann where the construction project ended *two* years ago.
One of the key parts of the road improvement project has been keeping businesses up to date on what's going on, and that has been a joint effort for Ferber engineering.
John Van Beek says, "The involvement of the Mt. Rushmore road group, their activity back and forth with the businesses letting them know what's happening, encouraging them to have a plan. Has really helped with the project to date."
