Motorcyclists injured in crash near Lead

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Two people were injured in a single motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon.

The motorcycle was traveling east on U.S. Highway 85 about eight miles west of Lead when the biker lost control.

The biker, a 63-year-old man, was taken to Lead-Deadwood Hospital by ambulance. He was later taken to Rapid City Regional.

His passenger, a 58-year-old woman, was airlifted to Rapid City Regional.

Both sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Neither person was wearing a helmet.
