The round of high pressure that provided an abundance of sunshine throughout the Black Hills on Sunday is slowly moving eastward. As it does, the sunny skies and quiet winds will give way to increasing cloud cover and more windy conditions for Monday. Expect to start the day with a lot of sunshine, then clouds will be on the increase during the afternoon. Winds will also gust upwards of 30 mph. On the bright side, Monday will be the warmest days in quite some time. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s around the area.
The warming trend will continue into Tuesday. High temperatures will approach, and exceed 40° by Tuesday afternoon. After the bitter cold, I imagine this will feel pretty nice! Weather models do hint at cooler temperatures by Christmas, but nowhere near as cold as what we have had.
