Man accused of murder gets trial pushed back

The man accused of killing a woman last November in a north side Rapid City motel last November was back in court Thursday afternoon.

Brian Duncan has already pleaded not guilty to second degree murder charges that could land him in prison for the rest of his life, if convicted. His trial was previously set to begin on June 12th, but in Thursday's hearing, the state requested the trail date be pushed back because one of their key witnesses would be unavailable for the first half of the trail. Although the defense wanted to keep the June 12th start date, Judge Matthew Brown granted the request. Duncan's trial is now set to begin September 5th.
