Thomas Lucero previously pleaded not guilty to charges of first and second degree murder and aggravated assault. Dubray's body was found on January 11th of 2017 along South Dakota Highway 89 in Fall River County. In Thursday's motions hearing, the discussion revolved around whether or not the names of witnesses would be released to the defense. The prosecution argues against that release of information, saying that it would put those individuals at risk. They believe that Lucero may have others attempt to find people who testify against him and inflict harm on them. Lucero's attorney says that information is needed well in advance in order to be prepared when the case goes to trial. The judge announced that a decision would be made in writing well before the next hearing, which will take place April 5th. Lucero faces up to life in prison on the current charges.
