Knollwood Heights Elementary students get festive at Christmas program

Tis the season for Christmas programs and students at Knollwood Heights Elementary were joining in on the festive fun.

First graders put on a show for their parents and family members on Friday.
Kindergartners through fifth graders have been preparing for this day since after Halloween.
Their music teacher says these programs teach them many skills.

Knollwood Heights Elementary Music Teacher Kendra Iversen says, "We have been working on matching pitch, following a conductor, singing as a group, all together, maintaining your own part. For the older grades, they play instruments and so, it's challenging to play the instruments and sing at the same time, so we've been working on that. Keeping a steady beat, that's another thing, especially for the younger kids and we've had actions and movements and it's been a great day so far, everything has been going really well."

The Knollwood Christmas program took place at Central High School's old theater because the school doesn't have a big enough space for parents to watch the kids perform.
