Rapid City, SD One of America's favorite foods is being honored Friday
Friday is National Pizza day and KOL's coal-fired kitchen was offering their guests half off any pizza on their menu.
KOL cooks their pizza in a giant wood burning stove with the air temperature staying just over 500 degrees.
They offer unique and creative pizza's for their customers including ingredients like fig, fried eggs, and pistachios.
Cody Bartels, KOL executive chef says, "I think everyone likes pizza obviously its one of the most popular foods in America. Ours, the reason I like it so much is that it is so approachable as far as creativity goes the sky is the limit. We've got several different kinds, we have an italiano with roasted red peppers and goat cheese, to our notorious PIG with the sweet potato pudding three kinds of pork : pork belly, bacon, sausage, pretty much the works."
